The red Poppy is symbolic of the Precious Blood. The Gregorian chant at the beginning is the Salvete Christi vulnera, a hymn for the Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ on July 1. The first verse can be translated thus: "Hail, ye Wounds of Christ, pledges of boundless love, whence unfailing streams of crimson Blood flow forth." Authorship is uncertain and it seems to have been composed in the 17th Century.

The Star of Bethlehem has a variety of folk legends attached to it, all of which relate to the Nativity of Our Lord and the Adoration of the Magi. The Gregorian chant in this video is from the Alleluia chant for the Feast of Epiphany and can be translated thus: "We have seen His star in the East"
